Thankful!

Thanksgiving day was everything it should be... lots of food, lots of family time, and lots of rest and relaxation.  Mom had the fabulous idea to eat pie for breakfast!  Since we weren't stuffed from dinner yet, they tasted even more delish than usual.

I think she liked it :)

After "breakfast," we headed out to the Turkey Bowl.  Some of us participated (apparently Scotty is a wicked good ultimate frisbee-er) and some of us just enjoyed the pretty day and being together!

And then home for the FEAST!  Mom made her traditional scrumptious food and we added some yummy cornbread stuffing from Mar.  Here we are happily anticipating dinner (most pics courtesy of Scotty)...

Mar discovered that the secret to winning Lilah's heart is food

And some post-feast pictures...

Haha, I think we were all STUFFED!  Luckily, we had a few hours til we went over to Dad and Jeanette's for their yummy desserts.  I guess we were too busy eating and talking there to take pictures, but it was very nice.

I'm so thankful we got such a full week to spend with Mar and Dave.  I love my family!

We heart Uncle Gaya

Ever since Nate got home from his mission a couple months ago, my kids have totally bonded with him!  Ethie has always called him Uncle Gaya (or however you spell it), so we still do.  Ethie loves to run in his room and show him things and Nate is always so nice about taking time to play with him!
I got these wigs on Halloween clearance :)

Nate and Ethie found a toad outside

Lilah is still super shy around people, but she has totally taken to Nate and she LOVES him!  He is seriously the only one who can get her smile for pictures!  And she will plop herself down on his lap at the piano or with a book.

Making her smile at home.  She will never do that for me!

I LOVE her face here!

Teaching her all he knows

So glad our kids have some time with you before you go away to college, Nate!  We all love you!!!

Halloweek

I can't believe Halloween is finally over!  It seems like the kids were dressed up all week, and they loved it!  Ethie requested to be Captain America about a month ago, so we went with that.  He actually used to think it was "Captain Moroni" until some kid at the park corrected him... :)  I got Lilah a little witch dress on clearance last year, so I was happy it fit her.  She would NOT leave the huge witch hat on, so I found this little headband that was so stinking adorable.  She still won't smile for pictures, especially cause she's always eating!

First up was the church Trunk-or-Treat.  We decided to do a double theme since Marianne dubbed James Captain America a while ago :)

Ethie told me Ashton is his new superhero "BFF" haha

Then a costume parade at the library... Ethie wore a Batman costume he found (that's a little too big, but whatever :)

He volunteered for something, of course

Then a trick-or-treat on the UWG campus with Dad and Jeanette.  There were games, face painting, hair spraying, dancing, pumpkin carvings, and lots and lots of candy.  The kids loved it!

Haha, muscles

She is obsessed with suckers now... little sticky mess!

Then safe trick-or-treating on the Square... I put Lilah in her Cowboys outfit, cause she was getting sick of the witch one!

It was actually a little bit chilly!

Haha, I love his face here

By the time Halloween actually came, most of the excitement was gone.  We did go around Mom's neighborhood and Ethie had fun seeing his friends and getting candy.  Then we ended the night at Dad and Jeanette's, where we got to sit in front of the fireplace and eat more candy!

I think this says it all!
