Our Christmas celebrations really began the weekend before Christmas. Marianne and Dave arrived Saturday night after a long drive from Nebraska. It was so fun to see them again, since we hadn't seen them since last Christmas! Lilah wasn't sick yet, so they got a little quality time with her and she was in heaven. Scotty even held her for a minute (oh, and this is her new favorite way to suck her fingers)!
Sunday and Monday before Christmas,
we got to spend a few cozy days at Dad's house.
We enjoyed:
giving and receiving presents
(Ethie obviously loved his tie-dyed shirt from Dad and Jeanette!)
eating delicious food that Dad made,
the warm fireplace,
playing with the microphone and looper
(Ethie especially loved the microphone),
watching Toy Story 3,
playing hide-and-seek outside in the lovely trees around the house,
meeting Jeanette's lovely mom, Rose,
loving our sick little Lilah
(especially sweet, sweet Aunt Marianne who got rewarded with sick germs),
and mostly just spending some quiet, relaxed time together.
I really, really love being with my family and we missed our Nate!
Scotty got the excess love.
Thank you, Dad and Jeanette, for having us!
and thanks to all of YOU for sharing our home and our love. It was a gift, all the way around.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Dad and Jeanette
Oh, and I should add...I had LOTS of good help (from Jeanette and Rose) with the cooking!
ReplyDeleteThanks again,
