Soccer family

We had the idea that soccer would be the perfect outlet for Ethan's abundance of energy.  So I found a league in Marietta through my friend Ashley who is a coach and signed him up!  But then I got an email that there was a shortage of coaches and no one to coach his little 5-year-old boys team.  Sad!  I was pregnant at the time and the thought of coaching soccer was daunting, so who stepped up to the plate?  (wait, that's baseball)... Daddy James!!!   Although he hadn't played since he was a little boy himself, and even with his crazy BUSY school/work schedule, he wanted Ethie to be able to play so he volunteered to coach.  It's been a little bit of a challenge keeping nine 5 and 6-year-old boys focused and working together, but he's done a great job and mostly, Ethan has had a BLAST!

It's so funny to watch them all running around, not really knowing where they're going, and not really caring!
Thank you, James, for being such a wonderful Dad/coach!
And this is how they usually end the practices and games.  Ethan loves friends!

  1. Wow! You captured the joy of what this kind of activity means to little boys. We both immediately teared up when we saw the picture of James with his team. Something about his sweet presence with them...
    Love,
