On the third day of Christmas

So on "Christmas morning," Scotty and Ethie woke us up around 9 am and told us it was time to open presents!!!  We were a little groggy from nights with a sicky baby,

but Ethan was just so excited and it was very fun.  Marianne and Scotty even set the mood with some early-morning Christmas carols!
And then it was time for stockings!  I think Ethie had already peeked at his, which we had fun filling with cars, bandaids, and treats that we normally wouldn't buy him.  When he found a clementine (which he normally loves!) at the bottom of his stocking, he laughed and said, "I don't need this!"  Hahaha.  And Lilah didn't particularly care about the doll in her stocking either, but the rest of us had fun finding surprises in our stockings (can you say pumpkin pie soda???)!

Then Ethie became Santa to distribute presents, although that didn't last long after he started opening his own.

And there were some fabulous presents!  Some favorites were the sing-a-ma-jig (for Lilah), the punching bag (for Dave), the loppers (for Mom), bananagrams (for Mar), and the GPS & hair straightener (for me, woohoo)!

Ethie was soooo sweet and cute this year.  We had forgotten to bring his presents (long story), but he really looked at each of the ones he got from everyone else and didn't really seem to notice that anything was missing.  I was definitely more upset than he was and everyone reassured me that it would be fun for him to open them when he got back!  Sweet boy

It was hard to say goodbye to Ethie after we were done, but he comes back in 2 weeks!  We spent the rest of the day hanging out with little sick Lilah, playing games (bananagrams!), eating good food and treats (thank you, Mom!), and enjoying being together I love my family!!!
